What is the Health.Care.Run?
The Health.Care.Run. is a cross-location running and health event organized by Volkswagen AG.
Does the Health.Care.Run. also take place at other locations?
Yes, the Health.Care.Run. takes place at many national and international Volkswagen locations. Further information can be found in the Volkswagen portal in the respective location communication.
Registration
When can I register?
The registration period runs from 15.06. to 12.08.2026.
How do I register?
Via the central registration portal: VW - Health Care Run Salzgitter 2026
Main applicants can register up to 5 accompanying persons register (runner or spectator).
Is team registration possible?
Yes, joint registration as a team is possible.
Nevertheless, the personal data of each participant must be stated in full.
There are No timekeeping and no statistics.
What data is requested during registration?
Main registrant (VW plant employees or partner companies):
- First and last name
- E-mail address
- Master/personnel number
- for partner companies additionally: partner number / personal ID) & company name
- Date & place of birth
- Running distance or spectator/accompaniment
- T-shirt size (S-4XL) for runners
Accompanying persons:
- First and last name
- Date & place of birth
- Running distance or spectator/accompaniment
- T-shirt size (S-4XL) for runners
Can I change my personal details or add or remove accompanying persons?
Yes, that is possible.
Change of data & accompanying persons:
Up to and including 12.08.2026 you can adjust your personal data and add accompanying persons at any time.
To do this, please open your Registration confirmation, which you will receive by e-mail and click on the link provided. Your stored data will be displayed and can be edited directly.
Deregistration from the run:
If you are unable to attend at short notice, you can also cancel via the Link in your registration confirmation possible.
Accompanying persons who have already registered will be automatically deregistered in this case.
Access & Tickets
Who can take part on the day of the event?
Access to the factory premises is restricted to
- Registered participants
- their registered accompanying persons (max. 5)
- and only via gate 2 at the academy
How does admission work?
All persons require a Personalized ticket with QR code (regardless of age). The ticket can be presented digitally or printed out.
Is there an ID check?
Yes, for all persons from 16 years.
Accepted ID cards:
- Identity card
- Passport
- European driving license
- Volkswagen factory ID card
Where and when do I get my admission wristband?
The wristbands will be handed out together with the T-shirts at the registration desk on the day of the race.
Event day
When does the Health.Care.Run. take place?
- Saturday, 22.08.2026
- Admission: from 08:30 am
- Start: 10:00 am
- End: approx. 14:00
- Supporting program + catering
When and where can I pick up the running shirts?
All participating runners will receive a T-shirt. T-shirts will be issued on the day of the event after check-in at the event site. Your chosen T-shirt size is noted on the entry ticket. Please have the ticket ready when you collect it.
Where do you run?
The route starts at the intersection in the factory at Gate 2 / Academy and goes around the outside of Halls 1, 2, 4 and 9.
What distances are there?
- 3 km
- 6 km
- 9 km
- 12km
The basic running distance is 3 km, the individual laps result in the above-mentioned totals
Timekeeping & technology
Is there a timekeeping system?
No.
Do I need a running shoe chip?
No, as there is no timekeeping.
Rules & Safety
Can I run with headphones?
No. Headphones are not permitted for safety reasons. not allowed.
Is barefoot walking allowed?
No. Running without shoes is not permitted for safety reasons. not allowed.
Is Nordic walking possible?
Yes, walking is basically possible. Everyone can walk at their own pace. Nordic walking poles are not permitted for safety reasons.
Can buggies or similar be taken onto the route?
No. This is not possible for security reasons.
Can my underage child (< 18 years) run with me?
No, for insurance reasons participation in the run is only possible from the age of 18.
Am I allowed to take photos on the factory premises?
On the premises of Volkswagen AG, a general Strict ban on photography - both inside and outside the halls.
Exception:
On the day of the event, photography is only permitted in the area of the Supporting program area with start/finish area permitted. This area is marked accordingly.
The photos taken there may for private use only can be used. One Publication or disclosure (e.g. in social media) is not permitted.
Please also note that the instructions of the security personnel must be followed at all times.
Infrastructure on site
Are there changing rooms?
Yes, toilets and rooms are available in the basement of the academy
Showers are not available.
Is there a left-luggage office?
No, there are no lockers or similar. Please do not bring any valuables with you.
Is there catering on site?
- Drinks for runners along the route and in the finish area
- Food and drink stands on site, free of charge for all registered persons
Accessibility
I have limited mobility. How do I reach the site?
Access to the event area is at ground level via gate 2 possible.
Work & time off
Does participation count as working time?
No. The event will take place outside working hours takes place.
What if I am scheduled to work on Saturday?
Please clarify a possible exemption in good time with your manager.
